Ash returns home after a week of promotions in this snippet from HIS OMEGA ON STAGE #Romance #PNR #MPreg #Omegaverse #MLM #8Sunday

Hello and welcome to another Weekend Writing Warriors post!

Thank you to all those who visited last weekend! I've been sharing snippets from the fourth book in my Shifter Towers series, HIS OMEGA ON STAGE, which will release through Decadent Publishing. Like all the other books in this series, it is an MM paranormal romance. I'll keep you posted when I know anything about a release date.

Set-up: In last weekend's snippet, I shared Jun's reaction to Ash's confession. And you got to see that they have a bit of a history, even though they never talked to each other back in high school.

In this weekend's snippet, I'm skipping ahead. In the rest of the chapter I'd shared, Jun and Ash agreed to try friendship before anything else, as Jun is still concerned about Ash's hectic schedule and him being in the spotlight. Now, Ash has just returned to his apartment after a week of promotions for his new album, of interviews, performances, and sleeping for small amounts of time when he got the chance. This is his first time home since the night he talked with Jun....

I entered my apartment and set my keys and messenger bag on the console table in the entryway. Somehow I made it to my bedroom, but I don’t remember walking there. Had I dozed on my way? Knowing I was finally home had brought on the tiredness I’d managed to hold off on the ride there. And I was ready to simply crash onto my bed without even changing.

A good plan until I caught the scent of pine and allspice. Faint, but enough to give me a jolt of energy. I searched my room for the source, finding the scent on the hoodie I’d changed into after my signing, the one I’d worn when I’d met up with Jun. I grabbed the hoodie from the back of my chair, held it tight in my hands, and took a big sniff.

**That's nine, but here's a little more for your reading pleasure.**

Ahhhh. Invigorating, yet comforting at the same time. I couldn’t believe the material still held onto his scent after a week.

That night had been like a dream come true to my younger self, especially the kiss at the end of the night. Though not exactly where I’d hoped to feel those lips.

Shit. I hadn’t texted him since that night. He’d texted me back the next day, but I hadn’t had any communication with him since then, had barely even been on my phone.

No matter how tired I was, I needed to text him. How were we supposed to even be friends if I didn’t stay in contact? But it was late. He’d probably be finished work. But would he be asleep? Or maybe he was with someone else. An omega. The idea made my stomach twist.

Yet, I had no claim on him. And he definitely hadn’t claimed me, no matter how many times I’d fantasized about that happening. I’d have to settle for being his friend for now, or nothing at all.

HIS OMEGA ON STAGE
Shifter Towers book four

Jun
For leopard cat shifter, Jun, being the rogue alpha in high school hadn’t helped him as an adult. Though he sometimes believed he was ready to find a mate, past experiences taught him that those he loves eventually leave him. So, he protects his heart by seeing omegas looking for nothing more than a one-night stand. Until he runs into someone from his past.

Ash
As the first omega signed to Adan Records, AI is anxious for the release of his debut album. Being a leopard cat shifter instead of an actual leopard like the rest of his family has always made him feel small and insignificant. But now he’s about to shine bright in front of the world, all on his own, without an alpha by his side. He doesn’t need one, and definitely doesn’t have time for one. Though when he runs into someone from his past who knows him as Ash, he wants to give this alpha all of his attention.

On Stage
But with all the problems that fame brings, will Ash be able to make a relationship work? Will Jun fight for the omega he’s sure is his fated mate? Or will they just let each other slip away, believing what they have just isn’t enough?

  1. Seems like fatigue is screwing with Ash's thinking. Why should it matter if Jun is awake? A quick text that doesn't beg an immediate answer would do the trick.

  2. Uh oh. He's goofing up. He'd better text! :-)

    1. Forgot to add, no post from me this week. I was away all last week and I'm still trying to catch up. :-)

  4. The lack of communication for a week might reinforce Jun's concerns. Better text quick!

  5. Agreeing with everyone - he'd better send that text.
And the use of the scent on the hoodie was perfect.

  6. Holding the hoodie close and taking a big sniff says it all. Great snippet.

  7. I'd say it probably helps for things like this to have an animal nose.

  8. Ash seems to be caught up in the jitters of a new relationship - trying to strike a balance between seeming interested but not so interested he comes on too strongly. I hope Jun is understanding of this.

    1. Exactly! Jun has his own misgivings about the whole thing, so they'll both really have to work on it.

  9. A tough situation to be in. I'm a notorious overthinker who is known to ruin things because of it. I relate to Jun's anxiety.
