Hello! I'm excited to announce that HIS OMEGA ON STAGE is now available!

Last week, I shared something related to the book with you each day on my blog. I started with excerpts, and if you missed them, you can find them here(1), here(2), here(3), and here(4). On Friday, I shared a recipe on how to make scent jars so you can experience the scent of Jun, the alpha of my story, and yesterday, I shared my writing playlist for this story.

Since it's release day, I'm going to share the usual information about my new release, which is available in both e-book and print, but I also have a sale to tell you about. BUNNY OMEGA ON THE RUN, the first book in my Shifter Towers series, is available for only 99¢ for a limited time! Check it out below! Also, the fifth book in the series, DEMON ON JACKSON STREET, has been contracted, and is set to release in early 2021.

HIS OMEGA ON STAGE
Shifter Towers book four

Jun
For leopard cat shifter, Jun, being the rogue alpha in high school hadn’t helped him as an adult. Though he sometimes believed he was ready to find a mate, past experiences taught him that those he loves eventually leave him. So, he protects his heart by seeing omegas looking for nothing more than a one-night stand. Until he runs into someone from his past.

Ash
As the first omega signed to Adan Records, AI is anxious for the release of his debut album. Being a leopard cat shifter instead of an actual leopard like the rest of his family has always made him feel small and insignificant. But now he’s about to shine bright in front of the world, all on his own, without an alpha by his side. He doesn’t need one, and definitely doesn’t have time for one. Though when he runs into someone from his past who knows him as Ash, he wants to give this alpha all of his attention.

On Stage
But with all the problems that fame brings, will Ash be able to make a relationship work? Will Jun fight for the omega he’s sure is his fated mate? Or will they let each other slip away, believing what they have isn’t enough?

What music did Jessica E. Subject listen to while writing HIS OMEGA ON STAGE? Find out in this #playlist #Romance #PNR #MPreg #MLM #Omegaverse #CountdownToReleaseDay

Hello and welcome back to my Countdown to Release Day!

HIS OMEGA ON STAGE releases tomorrow! I've been sharing something related to the book with you each day this past week on my blog. I started with excerpts, and if you missed them, you can find them here(1), here(2), here(3), and here(4). Today I'm sharing my music playlist, and be sure to come back tomorrow for release day, and a great deal!

HIS OMEGA ON STAGE PLAYLIST

I listen to music during the majority of my time awake. It's very rare that I'm not listening to anything, or at least have music playing in the background somewhere. So, of course there is a playlist for the books that I write. There were several songs that I listened to while writing His Omega on Stage. I have to admit that I'm a big fan of BTS (I'm A.R.M.Y.💜), so many of the songs are by BTS, but there are others included as well. I hope you enjoy them and find as much inspiration from them as I did.

Will Jun give Ash a second chance? Read a snippet from HIS OMEGA ON STAGE #Romance #PNR #MPreg #Omegaverse #MLM #8Sunday

Hello and welcome to another Weekend Writing Warriors post!

Thank you to all those who visited last weekend! I've been sharing snippets from the fourth book in my Shifter Towers series, HIS OMEGA ON STAGE, which will release through Decadent Publishing MONDAY! Like all the other books in this series, it is an MM paranormal romance.

Set-up: In last weekend's snippet, Ash went back to the table to find Jun gone. His manager told him that Jun remembered that he had another engagement and left. But Ash didn't believe that.

This weekend, I'm skipping ahead quite a bit. Ash texted Jun to find out what happened, but all Jun said was that they were too different before blocking his number and him on social media. TK texted Ash to say that his manager said something to Jun, but he didn't know what. Three weeks has passed since then, and Jun has just closed the record store he works at and is taking the deposit to the bank machine. Enjoy!

At the bank machine, I put in the deposit then had the receipt emailed to Kathie so she could do her bookkeeping.

I caught the scent again. Vanilla and brown sugar. So sweet, just like him. I pulled the card from the machine, certain I was imagining it all.

But when I turned around, he was right there, maybe twenty feet away. Not easily recognizable in sweats, an oversized hoodie, a ball cap pulled low, and a face mask. Almost the same outfit that I’d seen him in the night before his debut, but this time without any fancy adornments.

He pulled the mask down to his chin and waved. “Hi.”

**That's ten, but here's a little more for your reading pleasure.**

“Hi,” I answered, not moving. I wasn’t going to be rude, but I wasn’t going to run up to him, grab him, and swing him around as my leopard cat wanted me to do.

“Can we, um...talk?”

I shook my head. “I don’t think we’re allowed.”

He glanced behind him to a familiar face, one I hadn’t noticed was there until now. “I know what happened. And, um, I’m sorry for that.”

“Not your fault.” I glared past him to his manager, the one who’d told me that people who lived in my neighborhood were leeches on society, and that the whole area should be bulldozed over. “You have no reason to apologize to me.”

“I really need to talk to you.” Ash took a few steps forward while his manager remained in the same spot. “Can I give you a ride home?”

I held up my motorcycle helmet. “I got my own ride.”

He stepped closer. “Then, can you give me a ride home?”

I chuckled at the humor in that question. I wasn’t supposed to be near him, or have any communication with him, but now he was asking for a ride to his actual home with his manager standing right there? Yet, when I looked at the guy, he simply nodded, as if the rules he’d told me no longer applied.

He smells like pine and allspice! Find out how to make your own scented jar that smells like Jun from HIS OMEGA ON STAGE #romance #PNR #recipe #CountdownToReleaseDay

Hello and welcome back to my Countdown to Release Day!

HIS OMEGA ON STAGE releases November 30, and I'm sharing something related to the book with you each day on my blog. I've started with excerpts, and if you missed them, you can find them here(1), here(2), here(3), and here(4). Saturday is my Weekend Writing Warriors post, where I'll share a snippet from further into the book. And on release day, there will be a special deal you're not going to want to miss out on!

But, today I'm going to share something a little different. The scent of each character is important in this story, and while I'm leaving the scent of my omega for a guest post on another blog, I wanted to share how you can enjoy the scent of my alpha from this story.

Here's a quick snippet from chapter four describing Jun's scent: (This is in Ash's point of view)

The screening of the music video followed by the Q&A had gone well. All my fans, who had voted on the fandom name bots, respectfully sat in their seats and mostly asked about the music video, the album, and my inspiration for each song rather than more personal questions. Though someone did ask if I was seeing anyone. I’m sure they all knew by the lack of a mark and mixed scent I hadn’t been claimed. Something I was nowhere near ready for. Yet, that was the point at which I smelled him, a heady combination of pine and allspice. A scent that appealed to me as much now as it did back in high school when I didn’t have the courage to do anything more than stare at Jun as he passed me in the hall. Why had his scent suddenly become stronger at the question? Did he know it made me uncomfortable? Or had he seen something happen in the audience that I had missed?

I took a drink of water to try and clear his scent from my sinuses and formulate a proper answer. “Um, right now, I have a lot going on in my life, and I don’t have time to commit to the kind of relationship I someday hope to have.”

“But if you could choose anyone,” another bot started. “Who would be your ideal alpha?”

My ideal alpha? He was standing behind me to my right, but I wasn’t about to share that information with the audience or Jun.

And here's how you can recreate that scent for yourself with a scent jar...

You will need the following ingredients:
  • pint (2 cup) jar
  • 2-3 pine branches (4 inches long)
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • 1/2 tbsp whole allspice or 1/4 tsp ground allspice
How to make your scent jar:
  1. Add pine, cinnamon, and allspice inside the jar.
  2. Add water to fill the jar, leaving 1/2 inch space at the top.
  3. Seal.
  4. When you are ready to scent the air, pour all contents into a small saucepan. Simmer on medium heat for 10-15 minutes, adding additional water as it evaporates. You can alternatively add the heated mixture to a slow cooker or fondue pot that will keep the mixture heated and the scent lasting longer. But, be sure to constantly check for when more water needs to be added.
  5. Enjoy the scent of Jun, the alpha leopard cat shifter from HIS OMEGA ON STAGE.

The night before his debut album releases ~ Read an #excerpt from HIS OMEGA ON STAGE #CountdownToReleaseDay #Romance #MPreg #PNR

Hello and welcome back to my Countdown to Release Day!

HIS OMEGA ON STAGE releases November 30, and I'm sharing something related to the book with you each day on my blog. I've started with excerpts, and if you missed the first three, you can find them here(1), here(2), and here(3). I have a couple other things planned as well. Saturday is my Weekend Writing Warriors post, where I'll share a snippet from further into the book. And on release day, there will be a special deal you're not going to want to miss out on!

So, I'll continue today with the beginning of chapter two. Enjoy!

Chapter Two continued
Ash

“Ash?” Phons, the manager assigned to me by Adan Records, stepped into the lounge. “Did you get something to eat?”

Shit, I hadn’t. I’d been so distracted after seeing Jun, I forgot to go and get some food. I’d wanted pizza, but so much for that. “Nah. Wasn’t really feeling like anything from the places downstairs.”

“You weren’t recognized or anything, were you?” He gestured toward the door. “’Cause I can go get you something.”

Recognized? I wish the one person I’d been talking to had recognized me. “No, it’s okay. I’m really not that hungry now. You know, nerves and all.”

“Oh.” My manager tilted his head, as if confused. And no wonder. Before I’d gone down to buy food, I had done nothing but complain about how hungry I was, since I didn’t go to Table D’hôte with the company. I’d wanted one last night out of the spotlight.

“You sure? Have you eaten much today?”

I sat up and rubbed my temples. “I’m okay. I mean, I was hungry before, but then I got into my head on the way down, and I lost my appetite.”

“I get it.” He sat on the other end of the L-shaped couch. “Try and eat something at home, if you can. Is there anything you want to review before you go?”

“Naw.” I leaned back and sighed. “I mean, it’s pretty straightforward. I go on stage, introduce myself and the video for Always Running. Then after a brief Q&A, I sign albums.” We’d reviewed the process so many times and discussed what questions I was allowed to answer and the ones I had to avoid.

“Correct.” He rested his elbows on his thighs and templed his fingers. “You’ll have plenty of security there with you, as well as others controlling the flow of the crowd. Especially during the signing.”

“Sounds good.” I just wanted it to be tomorrow already, so I could be at the signing and find out what fans and critics thought of my album. That mattered more to me than any amount of fame.

“So, if you’re ready to go home then, I’ll let your driver know.”

I nodded to Phons. “Yeah, might as well try and get some rest before everything drops. If that’s even possible.”

He chuckled. “I was just an intern here when TK debuted, but he had the exact same nerves. I’ve listened to your album and heard nothing but positive words from the others who’ve heard it, too. Tomorrow is going to be a day you’ll never forget.”

“I hope so.” In the most positive way possible. I knew my life would never be the same, but I didn’t want to be a one-hit wonder whom everyone forgot after a couple of years. That is, if my song and album even became a hit.

“Okay, let’s go.” I stood up and wiped my hands on my pants, needing to get away from the company for a few hours. I’d spent an enormous amount of time here over the last month, preparing for my debut. Even slept here a few nights. Tonight, I needed a break. To clear my head. Maybe think about a certain record store employee instead. Yeah, that was what I’d do. As soon as I said goodbye to my manager at my apartment door, I would have nothing but Jun on my mind. He would return to my fantasies, just like during my teenage years. Because that was the only place he’d ever be my alpha.

His first crush, seven years later ~ Read an #excerpt from HIS OMEGA ON STAGE #CountdownToReleaseDay #Romance #MPreg #PNR

Hello and welcome back to my Countdown to Release Day!

HIS OMEGA ON STAGE releases November 30, and I'm sharing something related to the book with you each day on my blog. Chapter Two
Ash

It was him. It was really him. I let out a squeal then rolled my eyes at myself, thankful no one was in the elevator with me. I was acting like I did in high school when I saw my crush. I was seven years older, and still freaking out over him on the eve before one of the most important days of my life.

When the doors opened, I exited the elevator and headed to the artists’ lounge, unable to stop the skip in my step. Why was I more excited about seeing him than my album about to drop? It wasn’t as if he knew who I was. I’d made sure of that, wearing my hat and mask in the record store. I hadn’t wanted to be recognized by my fans. Yet, he was one person I would love to reveal my identity to. My true self. Not my stage name. Though, I doubted he’d know me anyway. In high school, I’d stood in awe, like a statue, as he passed me in the halls. I got excited if he even looked in my general direction. Never got up the courage to say a word to him though. Not once. Had I not been in disguise, I still would have been just some younger omega who shopped in the store where he worked.

In the lounge, I lay across the long white leather couch, disappointed in how I’d reacted to seeing Jun again. First, I’d panicked when I realized who was talking to me. Then I’d made up some story about a sister I didn’t have. A brother, yes. One the same age as Jun. One who knew I’d had a crush on the alpha loner and told me to stay away from him.

But I no longer spoke to that brother or my parents. They hadn’t accepted that I wanted to be a singer, wanted me to play a sport instead, “get a scholarship” that way, and “make something of yourself.” My own dreams hadn’t mattered to them. But I wasn’t like them to begin with. I was a leopard cat shifter instead of an actual leopard. My brother joked I was adopted. I believed him for most of my life even though my parents denied it. And they still expected me to be like them and follow their dreams for me. So, I left home the day after I graduated high school, getting a job at a fast-food joint for minimum wage and sleeping on the couch of a former classmate who’d moved to a downtown apartment the year before. It had been a rough few months living there, and my parents had never tried to look for me. But I remained focused on the auditions coming up at Adan Records. It was my dream to get signed to the company, go on tours, sing for crowds around the world. And it was all about to come true. My debut album, Stay, would release tomorrow. So, why did seeing Jun make me feel so small, like I was some shy kid again? Why had I been brave enough to stand in front of a bunch of industry professionals to sing, but I couldn’t say a simple hello to my crush? And I still got so flustered around him. I was hopeless when it came to those kinds of feelings. Didn’t know if I’d ever be brave enough to confess to him, or anyone else I might have feelings for in the future.

A Suspicious Customer ~ Read an #excerpt from HIS OMEGA ON STAGE #CountdownToReleaseDay #Romance #MPreg #PNR

Hello and welcome back to my Countdown to Release Day!

HIS OMEGA ON STAGE releases November 30, and I'm sharing something related to the book with you each day on my blog. I've started with excerpts, and if you missed the first one, you can find it here. So, I'll continue today with the second part of chapter one. Enjoy!

Chapter One continued
Jun

I’d just finished bringing in everything labeled for the signing when two women from AR arrived to help me get the room ready. The older one, probably in her mid-forties, with shoulder-length blonde hair and a large tattoo of a snake around her right arm, had a detailed layout of where everything was supposed to go. We divided the room then set up cardboard cutouts, decorated tables, and arranged the line area. The merchandise would come in the morning. Adan Records was really strict about not letting anyone get an early peek at their albums. Even though customers always came into the store early, hoping to snag a copy before their friends, they never had any luck with AR artists. Because we didn’t get them ahead of time.

I had just put the last barrier in place for the fan lineup when my phone vibrated in my pocket. I pulled it out to find a text from Felix.

Suspicious customer. Busy with others. Can you come deal?

Be right there, I replied.

I quickly excused myself from the room then rushed back to KMM. Felix was ringing through customers, but I could see him side-eying the person he’d texted me about. And for good reason. The figure browsing through the pop CDs wore baggy black jogging pants and a hoodie, with a black bucket hat and black face mask bejewelled with silver beads in the shape of a diamond. Obviously trying to keep their identity a secret, but that made them more suspicious in a record store. Though we had security stickers on most products, there were still too many items that could easily be pocketed.

I caught a whiff of their scent. Vanilla and brown sugar. An omega, which I hadn’t expected when I’d first seen him. Though I couldn’t tell what kind of shifter. “Can I help you with something?”

I don’t think he heard me approach, as he jumped a little before turning my direction. “I uh, yeah.... I’m looking for AI. His new album. For my sister.”

His deep voice caught me by surprise, too, but I didn’t believe his story at all. Why did he have to hide, in multiple ways, that he was a fan?

I sneaked a glimpse of his eyes under the rim of his hat. He appeared strangely familiar, as if I should know who the person was but couldn’t seem to remember. Someone I’d seen in person before maybe? Why couldn’t I remember?

“AI’s album doesn’t release until tomorrow. We don’t get any copies of it until first thing in the morning. Sorry to disappoint you, I mean, your sister.” Would he get the hint I didn’t find his story credible? “But if you’re available tomorrow, AI will be here to sign his new album from eleven until two. There’ll be new merch, too.”

“Oh, okay.” The guy adjusted his hat and mask, covering even more of his face. “I’ll come back then to get one. Thank you.” He rushed out of the store without bothering to look for anything else.

Not that I minded. It meant I could return to setting up for the signing. But I wondered if the guy would really come back. Would he admit to being a fan if face-to-face with AI?

“Customers are looking for his album already,” I said, walking into the event room. “That’s a good sign.”

“Understandable. He’s really good.” The older woman carried the cardboard cutout of AI to the stage. “I heard his album is a bit different from the covers he posted though.”

Everyone spoke so highly of his covers, but I still wouldn’t listen to them. I wanted to hear him singing his own music to make my judgment. “Well, I’m sure he’ll have quite the turnout tomorrow.”

The woman set the cutout in place, and that was the first time I got a glimpse of the artist who went by the stage name AI. All other cutouts had him wearing a white full-face mask, with intricate silver patterns. In this one, I could see his dark hair and big doe eyes. I couldn’t shake the feeling of familiarity, like I should know him from somewhere. I guess I’d have to try to get a glimpse of him sometime tomorrow to know for sure. That is, if I had a moment to leave the store.

From the beginning... Enjoy an #excerpt from HIS OMEGA ON STAGE #CountdownToReleaseDay #Romance #MPreg #PNR

Hello and welcome to my Countdown to Release Day!

HIS OMEGA ON STAGE releases November 30, and I'm going to share something related to the book with you each day on my blog. I'm going to start with excerpts, until I've shared the first two chapters. Then, I have a couple other things planned. Saturday is my Weekend Writing Warriors post, where I'll share a snippet from further into the book. And on release day, there will be a special deal you're not going to want to miss out on!

So, I'll start today with an excerpt from the beginning of the book. Enjoy!

Chapter One
Jun

Another day, another dollar. Okay, so I made more than a dollar a day, but that was how the saying went. I was on my way to work once again. All I seemed to do lately, with nothing to break the monotony of my week. I used to teach guitar lessons to a few high school kids on my days off, but they either went off to college or had their own part-time job now with no time for lessons anymore. And I hadn’t bothered to look for more students. A boyfriend? Yeah right! Who wanted a leopard cat alpha who worked the evening shift at a record store? One who had a bad-boy reputation in high school that hadn’t translated well into adulthood. I had the occasional lonely omega come into the store at night. But a hookup with them never led to another. At first, that’s exactly what I’d wanted, having been burned by those I’d loved in the past. But, that had quickly become a lonely life. Now, I was “too passionate,” or “an overgrown house cat,” and not at all the type of fun my bed warmers were looking for. I wasn’t the “bad boy” they expected.

So, I worked. And when I wasn’t working, I listened to music at home, sometimes strumming along. That was my life. Boring. And another boring night awaited me at work.

Or so I thought until I got there and saw my boss, Kathie, the owner of KMM—Kathie’s Music and Merch—at the back of the store, fingers clenched in her dark-brown hair.

“Thank the stars you’re here.” She handed me a tall, yet thin cardboard box. “My father was rushed to the hospital a couple of of hours ago, and I need to get there.”

“Why didn’t you call me to come in earlier?” I felt bad for sleeping in and lazing around all morning while she was stressing the whole time. Sure, my job was boring, but Kathie treated me well, and we got along. “You know I would have.”

“I know.” She lightly touched my forearm. “But the doctor said he was stable, and I needed to discuss things with Sanjeet, the rep from Adan Records, before AI’s signing tomorrow.”

She nodded toward a stack of tall cardboard boxes like the one I held. “This is only some of the display for tomorrow’s signing. I need you to help those coming down from AR to set up. Felix is coming in to work the store so you can do that for me.”

“Okay.” I nudged her toward her office. “I’ll take care of it all. Now, get your stuff and go to your father.” She didn’t need to stress about anything else.

While Kathie gathered her belongings, I rang up a couple of customers. The part of my job I was used to. Setting up the event room for the signing would be new for me. Usually, Kathie did that herself. Sure, I’d retrieved items for her when the store wasn’t busy, but I’d never been left to complete the task on my own. Or even with support staff from AR. But I wasn’t worried. She wouldn’t trust me with the task if I couldn’t handle it.

A few minutes after Kathie rushed out to catch the light rail transit to the hospital, Felix arrived, his normally blond hair sprayed silver, the main color in all the promo for AI’s debut album.

I tried to hide my smirk. “Excited about the album, or hoping to pick up a fan?”

He winked at me. “Maybe a bit of both. AI is cute. Have you seen him?”

“Nah. I don’t get into artists for their looks. I need to hear them first before I become a fan.” And if they’re good-looking, it’s an added bonus. But like I’d ever have a chance with anyone famous.

“He has some covers out already.” Somehow Felix managed to pull an app  with a list of AI’s covers up on his phone, and flashed it in front of me within seconds. “You should give them a listen while you’re setting up for him.”

I shrugged. “Trying to copy someone else’s song doesn’t give me any idea of what an artist truly sounds like.” From my experience, artists usually didn’t live up to my expectations on their own music after I’d enjoyed a cover. Sometimes the artist released a single of a completely different style than what I’d hoped for.

“But he makes them his own. Does his own thing.” Felix’s pout was cute, but it wouldn’t make me listen to this AI kid any sooner than I had to.

“Whatever.” I picked up a couple of the boxes. “I know the album will be playing here all day tomorrow. I’ll decide then.” Likely I’d be sick of every song by the end of the day and never want to hear the album again. Adan Records did have some good artists, like Envi and TK, but the boy group they debuted recently was too bubble-gum pop for me. Listening to them made my teeth hurt. Although they and groups like them seemed to sell well. With the rise of digital music, many fans no longer bought albums, but they came in searching for other merchandise, like clothing, posters, trading cards, figurines, and more. Their hunger for goods was endless.

Tonight, we wouldn’t be very busy. Only the customers who knew about the signing and wanted to avoid the crowd would come in. Plus, the occasional random shopper. Nothing Felix couldn’t handle. So, I set to work carrying all the material to the event room.

Dinner doesn't go as planned in this snippet from HIS OMEGA ON STAGE #Romance #MPreg #PNR #MLM #Omegaverse #8Sunday

Hello and welcome to another Weekend Writing Warriors post!

Thank you to all those who visited last weekend! I've been sharing snippets from the fourth book in my Shifter Towers series, HIS OMEGA ON STAGE, which will release through Decadent Publishing On NOVEMBER 30! Like all the other books in this series, it is an MM paranormal romance.

**I am still looking for blogs to visit for this release, so if you have room on your blog, and would like to host me on or after November 30, please let me know. Thank you!**

Set-up: In last weekend's snippet, Ash finished the concert, and was anxious to know what Jun thought.

This weekend, I'm skipping ahead in this chapter. Ash invited Jun to go to dinner with him, the other artists, and their managers. While Jun was reluctant because he feels out of place with them, he agreed for Ash's sake. Well, things don't go as Ash had hoped. They picked their food from a buffet-style setup, and Ash has gone to the bathroom before they all sat down to eat. FYI, Phons is Ash's manager. Enjoy!

When I got there, he was gone. Plate full. Steak untouched. Had he come looking for me and I’d missed him in passing?

“Where’d Jun go?” I glanced around the table, waiting for an answer. Envi and TK wouldn’t look at me while Kish chewed on his bottom lip.

“He left.” Phons cut a piece of his own steak. “Said he forgot about another commitment.”

**That's ten, but here's a little more for your reading pleasure.**

Out of the corner of my eye, I saw TK shake his head while Kish reached over for him. What was going on?

“Did Harold drive him home?”

“Nope. He just took off.” Phons forked the meat into his mouth and began to chew it.

I checked my phone for a message from Jun, but there was nothing. I had no idea what had happened while I was gone, but I suddenly felt numb. “I want to go home.”

Phons pointed his fork at me. “No, you need to eat. Take a seat.”

“I’m not hungry.” My eyes began to burn with the onset of tears. I backed away from the table. “I need to go home.”

Without waiting for a response, I left the restaurant and searched for my driver parked nearby. Cameras flashed as I shoved my way through the media, but I didn’t care. I needed to get away.
