Will Utahn accept or reject Genj's invite? Weekend Writing Warriors from GENJ #Romance #MMRomance #SciFiRomance

Hello and welcome to another Weekend Writing Warriors post!

Hello everyone! Thank you to all those who came to visit me last weekend! This weekend, I'm sharing another snippet from GENJ, the second book in my Sci-Fi MPreg MM Romance series, KADDIM BROTHERS. I finished revisions and sent this story in for submission.

Set-up: Last weekend, Utahn told Genj that he always manages to make him smile. They're still video chatting with each other, but Genj had yet to ask him to come visit.

This weekend, I'm skipping ahead in their conversation to that moment. Find out how is goes for Genj...

I gulped, wondering if this was the opening I needed to invite him, or if he’d consider it ill-timed. I guess I wouldn’t know unless I asked. “Um, while Gugait is still on Orez, do you think you’d have the chance to visit me? There’s a ‘family and friends’ weekend coming up.”

Utahn raised his eyebrows, his expression otherwise blank. Stars, had I misread our friendship? Had everyone lied when they told me he liked me, too?

“I guess that’s a no. Forget I said anything.” I wished I’d be able to forget, too, but I’d likely replay the moment of rejection over and over in my mind for days.

And a little more...

“No.” He waved a hand in front of himself. “I mean, yes. I’d love to come. You just….” He scratched the side of his head. “Caught me off guard. I didn’t expect to have an opportunity to see you again for a while.”

“That’s a yes?” My heart pounded in my chest, waiting for his confirmation. I’d dreamed of him coming to see me for so long. In the past, I’d only seen him when he’d traveled with my brother to see the whole team race.

He nodded. “I have to make sure Toufan can help Gugait, but if that’s okay, then definitely. I’ll book a hotel room as soon as I know for sure.”

Genj is a cinnamon roll alpha. Even as one of the circuit’s best space racers, he’s shy and rather clumsy. Not qualities anyone wants in a mate, especially the omega he’s crushed on for years. But when Genj invites Utahn on a whim to visit him for a weekend, he’s surprised the omega agrees.

Utahn never expected his best friend’s older brother to reciprocate his feelings. Genj is a space racer, and everyone in the universe knows they rarely commit. When the two get together, sparks fly. And what once seemed impossible becomes a dream come true.

But situations change. And past relationships have a way of interfering with new ones. Can Genj and Utahn work through past traumas, or were they never meant to be more than a childhood crush?

You always manage to make me smile ~ Weekend Writing Warriors from GENJ #SciFiRomance #MMRomance

This story is in revisions, so any feedback is greatly appreciated.

Set-up: Last weekend, Genj called Utahn and was trying to convince himself it was a good idea to invite his "friend" to the 'family and friends' weekend, when Genj fell off the bed and landed on his butt.

This weekend, I'm continuing immediately after that moment. Enjoy!

“Are you okay? What happened?”

I heard the concern in Utahn’s voice before I was able to steady myself along with the screen. “I’m good. Just slipped.” Instead of trying to get up again, I remained on the floor. I didn’t want to crack the screen on another comm unit.

Utahn giggled, his nose wrinkling in the most adorable way. “How can you be as clumsy as you are and yet race for the team with the best ranking for the last two seasons?”

I shrugged, slightly embarrassed, but this wasn’t something Utahn didn’t already know about me. “I don’t have to move much in my jet. I only have to be able to read the controls and fly.”

With a wide grin, he shook his head. “You always manage to make me smile. And I need that after a long day.”

A face shaped by the gods ~ Read an excerpt from GENJ #KaddimBrothers #SciFiRomance #MMRomance #MPreg #8Sunday

This story is in revisions, so any feedback is greatly appreciated.

Set-up: Last weekend, Ret told Genj to invite Utahn to the 'family and friends' weekend and just 'ask him out already.' Unfortunately, Genj believes things are a little more complicated than that, as they both have separate lives on different planets.

This weekend, I'm skipping ahead a little bit in the chapter. Genj has just called Utahn on his comm unit. And you'll see that although Genj may be an excellent pilot, he's not as graceful on land. Enjoy!

My screen scrambled before the static cleared to reveal a face shaped by the gods. Round cheeks, full lips, and eyes that seemed to disappear when he smiled. All framed by dark brown locks. Perfection. My heart swelled every time I saw him. “Hi Utahn! How are things?”

A faint blush spread across his cheeks, something that happened at the beginning of every conversation we had. “Hi, um, I’m good. It was a busy day at the bakery, but I’m glad to see you.”

“I’m glad to see you, too.” I sat on the edge of my bed, trying to think of a way to ask him about the ‘family and friends’ weekend. Might as well. It wouldn’t hurt to, I guess. But I slipped off the bed. My ass hit the floor with a thud, and I scrambled to catch the comm unit before it hit the floor.

**FREE on Amazon! Two of my ebooks are free on Amazon if you're looking for something new to read: BRYCE and PIKA OMEGA PLUS ONE

Set-up: Last weekend Genj was heading back to the dorms with his team, when his brother, Ret, tapped him on the shoulder. Genj worried his brother was going to tell him they were going to practice some more, but Ret has other ideas. Enjoy!

“Invite him.”

I shielded my eyes with my hands as I tried to block the glare from the sun. “Who? What are you talking about?”

Rolling his eyes, my brother sighed. Ilam giggled beside him.

“Utahn. Your boyfriend. Invite him to the upcoming ‘family and friends’ weekend.”

I huffed out a breath. “First of all, he’s not my boyfriend.”

“Yet,” Ret interrupted. “Probably would be if you’d just ask him.”

I pretended I hadn’t heard. No way was I going to take relationship advice from someone who had a new being in their bed as often as possible. “And second, he has his own business to run. On Orez. It’s not as easy for him to get time off.”

“It would be if you’d just claim him then get him to be our own personal baker here.” My brother shrugged as if life was that simple. “That way you would get your dick wet as often as I do, and I could enjoy all the sweet treats from back home.”

Heading back to the dorm with his team. Read an excerpt from GENJ #KaddimBrothers #Romance #SciFiRomance #MMRomance #8Sunday

This story is in revisions, so any feedback is greatly appreciated.

Set-up: Last weekend was a nice calm intro to Genj. He's quite an easy-going character. Though a few things make him anxious. I'm skipping a few sentences, but continuing with the same scene in Genj's point of view. Enjoy!

We hopped in the hovercart to take us back to our dormitory. As usual, Xac and Qé cuddled together in the back, sharing intimate touches.

My oldest brother, Ret, also the leader of ORIXA, was reviewing the same maneuver we’d just flew with Ilam, as if he hadn’t already proved he could do it. I felt sorry for the kid. Although Ret spoke highly of Ilam when he wasn’t around, my brother never let our team’s newest member rest once we landed.

And I was up front, as usual. The way it had been since Ojokun got into an accident then left the team because he was in love with my youngest brother, Vawn. I kind of missed the days when it was Ojokun up front brooding instead of me.

Suddenly, I felt someone shove my shoulder. I glanced back to find Ret staring at me, a sly grin across his lips.

“What?” I had no idea what was going on in his head. Hopefully he wouldn’t tell me we’d be going back to the simulators for more practice. I was worn out. Plus, I wanted to talk to a friend of mine from my home planet, Orez. It wasn’t very often our schedules and the time difference between planets gave us a chance to chat.

**What does Ret want? And who is Genj looking forward to talking to? Find out next weekend...

Practice is over. Time to land the jet. Read an excerpt from GENJ #KaddimBrothers #Romance #SciFiRomance #MMRomance #8Sunday

Hello and welcome to another Weekend Writing Warriors post!

Hello everyone! Thank you to all those who came to visit me last weekend! This weekend, I'm sharing my first snippet from GENJ, the second book in my Sci-Fi MPreg MM Romance series, KADDIM BROTHERS. This story is in revisions, so any feedback is greatly appreciated.

Set-up: This is the opening scene in Genj's point of view. Enjoy!

Deploying flaps and slats, I began to slow my jet as I approached the runway. All indicators showed I was in the correct position, so I closed the throttles and started to flare. My main landing gear touched down, followed by the nose gear. Using my reverse thrust to slow down even faster, I then applied the brakes for a perfect landing. Today’s practice was complete.

Once I taxied around to my designated spot on the tarmac, I glanced around to make sure the rest of my team was in place before opening the canopy. It was a successful training day, and Ilam, our newest teammate, proved once again that he could do anything. The kid had absolutely no fear when it came to attempting new maneuvers.

I unbuckled my harness, took my helmet off, then made my way down the steps that one of our team’s mechanics had positioned beside my jet.

“Nice flying today,” Hanziel, the head mechanic, said as I stepped onto the tarmac.

HOOK UP ALREADY! Read an excerpt from VAWN #KaddimBrothers #Romance #SciFiRomance #MMRomance #8Sunday

Hello and welcome to another Weekend Writing Warriors post!

Hello everyone! I'm back after taking a month off to finish my work-in-progress. And I did finish. Now, it's time for revisions, and I have a feeling GENJ is going to need a lot of those. This weekend, as an introduction to GENJ, I'm sharing a snippet from VAWN, the first book in my Sci-Fi MPreg MM Romance series, KADDIM BROTHERS. This is a bit of a spoiler for VAWN, but it introduces the main characters in GENJ, and their relationship at the beginning of their story.

Set-up: In Vawn's point of view: It's the day of Vawn's wedding to Ojo. Vawn, his best friend, Utahn, and his daughter, Enif, are getting ready for the wedding. Vawn's brother, Genj, pops is to see if they are ready so they can start the ceremony. And they tell him they are. Enjoy!

I stepped toward my brother and shoved him out the door. “Quit flirting, and go tell everyone we’re set for the ceremony to begin.”

His smile faded as his eyes widened. “I wasn’t.”

I chuckled. “Well, you should be.”

His face paled right before he turned and rushed toward the main room.

Utahn swatted me. “What was that for? Don’t tell him to flirt. It’s going to make him awkward around me.”

**And to finish this off...**

I snorted. “He already is. He’s liked you since we were teens, before he became a racer. And I’m sick of the two of you tiptoeing around each other. Just hook up already.”

VAWN
Kaddim Brothers book one

Vawn doesn’t need a mate. He’s already established himself universe-wide as a hot name in fashion, while raising his daughter. But he won’t say no to a fling with a hot space racer when he travels to Eurebly to visit his brothers. One night. That’s all he can give. Because his heart shattered when he lost his previous alpha, and he hasn’t been able to repair it completely. He refuses to love someone like that ever again.

Ojokun survived on Jenegath in order to leave the planet and become the best space racer in the universe. Though he flies with a team, he’s never depended on anyone outside of his jet. He keeps to himself. Has one-night stands, just like every other space racer. But, after a mind-blowing night with the brother of two of his teammates, he can’t stop thinking about the gorgeous omega, or the foreign longing that scares him more than his overly-protective teammates.

Can Ojokun convince Vawn that he wants more than one night? Or is that all they were ever meant to be?

As the dice decide their fate, they wonder if love can beat the odds ~ ETERNITY'S GAMBLE by @VJAllison1974 #Giveaway #NewRelease #PNR #Romance #FriendsToLovers

Eternity's Gamble

by V.J. Allison

Genre: Paranormal Horror Romance

Can love beat the odds, or will the dice decide their fate?

Expecting the usual entertainment at the local Nova Scotia exhibition, Charles Hazard is less than impressed by the secluded corn maze his long-time friend and secret crush, Tiffany, drags him to. The repulsive state of decay, and the creepy dummy guarding the entrance of the maze have Charles anxious to leave, but his sense of self-preservation wars with his desire to make Tiffany happy.

Tiffany Morrow doesn’t think much of the tarot card reading she had only days before the annual exhibition, and has all but forgotten the prophet’s words and how she drew the Death card when she comes across a spooky corn maze. There’s only one person she wants to explore the stalks with. She’s been in love with her best friend, Charles, for as long as she can remember. His level head, introverted tendencies, and unique ginger sexiness call to the most intimate parts of her.

Their fun quickly takes a dark turn when the maze morphs into a game of life or death. From a quiet sunflower field, to a treacherous walk across a volcano’s cone, to an encounter with a creature out of horror legends, each roll of the dice forces them to work as a team or perish in a way they most fear.

Amidst the danger-filled labyrinth, they delight in small, stolen moments and find the soul mate they have been searching for. However, as with most games of chance performed at a devil’s will, there is more to this sport than there appears. Could they really be the only ones within the walls of their confines, or are other creatures lurking?

In a terrifying twist of fate, their chances at forever could be ripped away from them by a single roll of the dice…

Victory may linger out of reach, and a curse of eternal agony and loneliness could be their fate. Or, just once, the dice might roll in their favor. But what are the odds of that?

Eternity’s Gamble is a friends to lovers paranormal horror romance.

Tiffany felt like she was crawling out of a black hole. Each time she went forward, she was dragged back a step or two. A scream was wedged in her throat, her mouth dry, and her arms were cumbersome.

Light appeared as a slit that grew slightly larger, stabbing her eyes. Agony flooded her head, and iron spikes drove into her back. She squeezed her eyelids shut, hoping to block the searing torture in every cell of her body. A screeching echoed in her ears, raspy, akin to the soundtrack of a horror movie.

“Tiff. Tiff. Wake up,” a voice commanded.

No. Waking up meant pain and anguish. The silence of oblivion called to her. She drifted toward the peace it offered.

A hard shove made her shoulder ache. “Tiff! Wake up! We have to get up,” the voice commanded sharply. It was male and familiar. But who was it?

Her throat was on fire. Why was someone screaming? She tried opening her mouth but it was already ajar.

As awareness flooded her brain, the screeching became louder, more coherent. With a start, she realized it was her voice she was hearing. She scrambled around with a hand, looking for something—anything—to grasp and help her come back to reality.

A strong hand grabbed hers. “Open your eyes.”

Charles. What was he doing here with her? And why did she hurt so much? She shifted from her stomach to her side, and felt grass against her bare arm. Why was she lying on the lawn? Her last memory was going to the exhibition with Charles, and they were walking toward the show rings—

Her eyes flew open as the image of the hideous monster they had encountered flooded her mind. With a loud shriek, she flew to a sitting position. Nausea burned her mouth, stomach, and throat. The vision wouldn’t leave her mind.

She quickly turned her head and gagged. Whatever was left in her stomach came up, and it tasted horrible.

Charles patted her back and held her hair off her face. Disgusting. She hadn’t vomited that hard since the last time she was drunk, after having a few too many strawberry Jell-O shooters during the Canada Day party at their mutual friend Erica’s house.

“Sorry,” she mumbled and wiped a hand across her mouth. She would kill for a glass of water, but a glance around the room showed nothing but bare yellow walls, grass beneath her, and an odd-looking door covered in bright-green foliage with corn stalks and a few live ears of corn. There was a pink hue close to the ceiling.

Higher up, the hue became brighter. The word START was flashing at them in four-foot-high pink neon letters.

Acrid bile and gravel hit her tongue again. “Start? What does that mean?” She grabbed Charles’ hand, and her anxiety eased a little when his fingers entwined with hers.

“I-I don’t know,” he stammered.

He looked like she felt. His face ashen, his blue eyes looked tired, and dark circles ringed his eyes. His red hair looked like it hadn’t been combed in a few days, and his lips were as white as his cheeks. Hell, even the smattering of freckles across his nose seemed muted. His other hand was fisted, and there was fear in his eyes.

You were chosen. You drew the Death card. You will play my game! The deep, demonic-sounding voice echoed in Tiffany’s head. “The dummy. Didn’t he say we were chosen to play his game?”

Charles’ eyes widened. “Yeah, he did. But he didn’t tell us the rules.”

Tiffany scrambled to her knees. The room spun. She shook her head to clear it and managed to get her feet under her. “Surely there’s a rule book around here somewhere.” She bent over and slid her hand around the bottom of the wall, along the crease between it and the floor/ground. All she got was a handful of grass.

Charles sighed. “I checked. There isn’t.”

She stood and managed to stagger over to one of the corners. Nothing visible in the corner seam, but that didn’t mean anything. He could have easily looked with his eyes and not felt around like she had. Some days, she wished he wasn’t so damn cautious. It drove her crazy seeing him stick a toe in the water instead of jumping in full force. She felt along the seam as high as she could reach and down to the floor. Nothing but smooth walls of an unknown material met her fingers. “Did you actually touch anything?”

“No, but something fell out of the ceiling when I woke up.”

She turned her head to stare at him. “What was it?”

He sighed and lifted his hand, opening the fist. On his palm lay two black dice. The dots, totaling five, were glowing fiery red. His arm trembled.

“Dice? What are they for?”
