Hello and welcome to another Weekend Writing Warriors post!
Hello everyone! I'm back after taking a month off to finish my work-in-progress. And I did finish. Now, it's time for revisions, and I have a feeling GENJ is going to need a lot of those. This weekend, as an introduction to GENJ, I'm sharing a snippet from VAWN, the first book in my Sci-Fi MPreg MM Romance series, KADDIM BROTHERS. This is a bit of a spoiler for VAWN, but it introduces the main characters in GENJ, and their relationship at the beginning of their story.
Set-up: In Vawn's point of view: It's the day of Vawn's wedding to Ojo. Vawn, his best friend, Utahn, and his daughter, Enif, are getting ready for the wedding. Vawn's brother, Genj, pops is to see if they are ready so they can start the ceremony. And they tell him they are. Enjoy!
I stepped toward my brother and shoved him out the door. “Quit flirting, and go tell everyone we’re set for the ceremony to begin.”
His smile faded as his eyes widened. “I wasn’t.”
I chuckled. “Well, you should be.”
His face paled right before he turned and rushed toward the main room.
Utahn swatted me. “What was that for? Don’t tell him to flirt. It’s going to make him awkward around me.”
**And to finish this off...**
I snorted. “He already is. He’s liked you since we were teens, before he became a racer. And I’m sick of the two of you tiptoeing around each other. Just hook up already.”
VAWN
Kaddim Brothers book one
Vawn doesn’t need a mate. He’s already established himself universe-wide as a hot name in fashion, while raising his daughter. But he won’t say no to a fling with a hot space racer when he travels to Eurebly to visit his brothers. One night. That’s all he can give. Because his heart shattered when he lost his previous alpha, and he hasn’t been able to repair it completely. He refuses to love someone like that ever again.
Ojokun survived on Jenegath in order to leave the planet and become the best space racer in the universe. Though he flies with a team, he’s never depended on anyone outside of his jet. He keeps to himself. Has one-night stands, just like every other space racer. But, after a mind-blowing night with the brother of two of his teammates, he can’t stop thinking about the gorgeous omega, or the foreign longing that scares him more than his overly-protective teammates.
Can Ojokun convince Vawn that he wants more than one night? Or is that all they were ever meant to be?

Nothing like family to tell it like it is. Maybe just the push they needed. Good luck with revisions. Wish I was that far along!
ReplyDeleteYes, it's exactly what they need, and not the last time family gets involved in pushing these two together. Thank you! You'll be there soon!

ReplyDeleteWell, that was anything but subtle. Maybe that's what he needed though. :) Guess we'll see in the next book. Glad to have you back!
ReplyDeleteDefinitely what he needed. Thank you, Jenna!
DeleteThat's telling him. Now he needs to take the advice!
ReplyDeleteYes! If only he wasn't so stubborn and unsure of himself.
DeleteDirect and to the point. I hope the editing goes well.
