Hello and welcome to another Weekend Writing Warriors post!
Thank you to all those who visited last weekend! This weekend, I'm sharing the another snippet from VAWN, the first book in my Sci-Fi MPreg MM Romance series, KADDIM BROTHERS. The story is finished and I'm self-editing right now, so any feedback would be helpful.
Set-up: This snippet continues from last weekend. It's ten plus a couple more. Enjoy!
“I don’t think so.” I ruffled her sandy-blond hair, the same color as mine, before clutching the handle of my case and heading out of my room. “I think your uncles may let me sit in theirs, but they would never let me fly them.”
“What ’bout me?” She stuck out her arms and raced up and down the hallway. “Do you sink de’ll let me fwy?”
“Uncle Ret told you he’d give you lessons as soon as you get your license to fly.” Originally, I’d planned to take Enif with me, but my best friend, Utahn, whom I shared a house with, said I needed to get away on my own for once. He said he’d take care of my daughter, and already had my parents on standby if there was an emergency.
“But dat’s….” She haphazardly counted on her fingers. “Firteen years from now. I wanna fwy now!”

DeleteIt's so easy to relate to Enif. Time passes so much more slowly when you're young, and you're eager to do everything right now instead of waiting.
ReplyDeleteVery true! Thank you, Carrie-Anne!
DeleteFun snippet. Always nice to see a father encourage his daughter.
ReplyDeleteYes, that's very important! Thank you, Alexis!
DeleteCute little girl. She knows what she wants--to fwy. lol

ReplyDeleteThank you, Elaine!
DeleteI haven't really read any mpreg stuff, so since you've introduced his daughter, I'm curious - how do women fit into your world? Are there still MF relationships? How does that work with an omegaverse?
ReplyDeleteThis is not a completely omegaverse world. This trilogy involves many worlds, genders, and sexualities. Five of the six main characters are part of the omegaverse, but aren't limited by it. If that makes sense. There are many women mentioned in the trilogy, and many are able to get pregnant and such. But, none of them are love interests in my stories. Not all omegaverse stories are written this way though. It truly depends on the author and how they want to write.
DeleteThanks for the explanation!
DeleteWhat a cute snippet. :)
