Set-up: In last weekend's snippet, Ash tries subtly flirting with Jun, but Jun still has his reasons for ignoring his actions.

In this weekend's snippet, Ash is ready to spell it out to Jun exactly how he feels. But is Jun ready to hear it?

(*FYI, Ash's stage name is AI, as in Artificial Intelligence. That's why his fandom name is bots.)

“What, that they think I’m your alpha?” I wouldn’t say cute. More like dangerous for an omega just beginning his career in the public eye.

“Yeah.” He ran his palm across my thigh. “Would that be such a bad idea?”

I removed his hand. Though I fought my leopard cat the whole time, I knew how dangerous taking his actions any farther could be. “You said you don’t have time for a relationship. Besides, I don’t think all of your fans would be happy about it.” The option of a one-time fuck was there, but I’d had enough of those to know they never left me satisfied. Besides, my leopard cat was too active for anything with Ash to be just once.

**That's nine, but I've got to get to Ash's confession.**

He moved away, turning to sit cross-legged while facing me. “I guess. Maybe. But the thing is....” He brushed a hand over his face. “I’m kind of embarrassed to say this.”

Embarrassed now? After he nearly scented me? Acted like we knew each other quite well when I hadn’t seen him for years? And even then we didn’t talk. “What is it?”

“I....” Glancing down, he played with the hem of his shirt. “Back in high school, I had the hugest crush on you. And I kinda thought, you know, now that I’m beginning to make a name for myself, that you’d actually notice me.”

Set-up: In last weekend's snippet, Jun and Ash are alone in the Artist's Lounge, and Ash gets really close to Jun.

In this weekend's snippet, I'm skipping through a bunch of small talk to the point where Ash is starting to throw even more hints to Jun by showing him how fans reacted to the signing. Will Jun get it?

Ash scooted closer, until his side pressed against mine. Holding his phone in front of me, he flipped through various screenshots he’d taken. There were many of him, but he didn’t stop until he came to one showing me standing close behind him. “Read what they wrote.”

If that’s not AI’s alpha, I want him to be mine. He’s hot!

Interesting. I hadn’t expected any of his fans to take any notice of me. Especially since omegas came into the store all the time and didn’t pay any attention to me. I nodded my head, not sure how else to react.

He showed me another of the two of us, even closer this time. It must have been taken at the end of the Q and A session, just before I escorted Ash from the room.

This isn’t AI’s manager. I wonder if it’s his alpha with how they looked at each other when AI was asked if he had an alpha. They look good together anyway.

We’d looked at each other at that moment? I don’t remember. 

My leopard cat stirred inside. There had to be a reason Ash was showing me these screenshots and none of the others. I had an idea, had wondered it since interacting with TK and Buan. Yet, it seemed too impossible to be true. There’s no way Ash wanted me as his alpha. We barely knew each other. But when he leaned his head on my shoulder while flicking through more pictures, I could no longer quiet my leopard cat.

While I was tempted to take his phone away, I reached behind him and ran my hand across the top of his head. “Why are you showing me these?”

His scent became intoxicating, and he glanced up for a moment and smiled before resting on my shoulder again. “I think it’s cute.”

Set-up: In last weekend's snippet, Jun was on his way up to meet Ash, and ran into TK (from Bunny Omega on the Run), while exiting the elevator.

In this weekend's snippet, I'm skipping ahead a little bit. Jun meets a few more artists from Adan Records, and learns once again that Ash can't stop talking about him. Now, they're alone in the Artist's Lounge....

Sticking my thumb over my shoulder, I glanced at the now closed door. “They didn’t have to leave.”

Ash sighed before standing. “Naw. They wanted to leave earlier, but I convinced them to stay.”

“In case I didn’t show up?” I only asked based on what the others had said, though I didn’t understand why I mattered so much.

He chewed on the corner of his lip and nodded. “I wasn’t sure if you would. Anyway....”

He clasped his hands in front of him. “Take a seat, and let me get you something to drink. Do you want coffee, tea, water, beer, wine, soda? I think there might be hot chocolate and some coolers, too.”

While he rustled through the pod cups, I took a seat at the end of the couch. “Just a water is good, thanks.” Any more caffeine, and my leopard cat would jump right out of me, while alcohol would give him complete control over my actions.

“Oh, okay.” He busied himself at the beverage and snack counter while I took in the rest of the room.

Everything was white, the walls, the ceiling, and all the furniture, including two full-body massage chairs. At the far end were two computer stations and a large table for eating or maybe meetings, with a large shelving unit dividing the space. The color in the room came from the framed albums released under Adan Records from their various artists. All in order of release, the newest being Stay from AI.

Ash returned with two glasses of water, and after handing me one, he plopped down on the couch. Right beside me. Maybe two inches between us when there were several feet of unoccupied space on the other side of him. I didn’t mind. I wasn’t repulsed by him or his sweet vanilla and brown sugar scent, but I worried I didn’t smell the freshest. Though I gather he didn’t mind since he stayed by my side. And at some point he had changed since I’d seen him in the morning, no longer in the button-down silver shirt and black leather pants. Instead, he wore sweat pants and an oversized hoodie. With only the two of us in the room, I actually felt overdressed.
