Yoni's father = Conflict ~ Read a snippet from PIKA OMEGA PLUS ONE #romance #MLM #MPreg #PNR #8Sunday

Hello and welcome to another Weekend Writing Warriors post!

Thank you to everyone who visited me last weekend! This weekend, I'm continuing with a snippet from the third story in my Shifter Towers series, PIKA OMEGA PLUS ONE. It's an MM MPreg Shifter Romance. The story is available in both ebook and print.

Set-up: In last weekend's snippet, Yoni finally asked Milo to be his boyfriend. Of course, Milo said yes. And they agreed to go on another date, with Odega this time, on Sunday. But, Yoni's father arrives in the city for a surprise visit, and the source of some of the conflict in the story. (In Yoni's POV, but the first line is his father's.)

“I’m only staying for a couple of days. Enough to help you find an appropriate omega. All the good ones are going to be taken if you wait too long.”

After a heavy exhale, I grabbed the suitcase and carried it toward the main door of the apartment. “It’s really nice of you to visit, but I already have an omega boyfriend. Found him all on my own.”

As my father stumbled behind me, spouting off all kinds of questions, I kept walking. Opened the controlled main door, and marched down the hall to my single-bedroom apartment. Guess who would be sleeping on the couch tonight?

“You must tell me everything about him.”

**That's ten, but I've included a little more of the scene below.**

My father let the door slam behind him and quickly eyed my place while trying to remain displeased. Probably wasn’t hard since my apartment wasn’t the ranch house he was used to living in. “Starting with, does he go to church?”

“Nope.” I took the bag into my room then immediately began changing the sheets on my bed. “He doesn’t. And I can’t say I’ve been to one either since I moved here.”

“Well, that’s going to change. Tomorrow morning, you’re going with me to church.” He opened my light-blocking curtains and clicked his tongue at the view from the window. A parking lot. “And I expect you to dress nice. Not just wear a clean pair of jeans and a button-down shirt like you did the last time you visited me.”

I rolled my eyes. Didn’t matter every other alpha had worn that, too. I was supposed to look better than them to make an impression on omegas I had no interest in. But some things weren’t worth arguing over.

PIKA OMEGA PLUS ONE
Shifter Towers book three

Milo
My mate died in a horrible car crash the night after he claimed me. I didn’t know I was pregnant with his child until he was buried in the ground. Luckily, my brother and his family supported me through it all. Now, it’s time for me to earn my keep. I’m going back to work. Not only to earn money, but to have a social life again. Even if just during the hours I’m at my job. Because I’m nowhere near ready for another relationship. Not sure I ever will be.

Yoni
I moved to Saramto to take a paid intern position at the local news station. My first time living in such a big city. And as the time limit on my contract kept looming closer, I hoped to come across something to keep me here. Nothing did. Until I met Milo and his adorable son. Now, I want them to be mine and I have no desire to leave. But my time is drawing near. While I pray for some miracle to come along and let me stay, I must find a way to tell Milo I have to go.

Pika Omega Plus One is a sweet with knotty heat shifter mm mpreg romance. It is book three in the popular Shifter Towers Series.

  1. Oh boy... His dad sure is the overbearing type. I wonder if he'll approve of Yoni, or not? This might make Milo stand up to his dad. Good snippet!

    1. Yes, they do. Sometimes parents need to listen as well.

  4. Unfortunately some parents like to rule the roost even after their kids have grown up and moved out.

  5. I wonder if his dad even took off his shoes before he started judging Yoni's life. sheesh. Great tension here!

  6. Loved the line "trying to remain displeased". Tells me everything I need to know about the man! Hope Yoni can resist getting swept under.

  10. His father offers to find him his next lover? Gee, my dad never did anything like that for me. I led a deprived childhood!

    1. LOL Sure, if you actually want his help, but Yoni doesn't.

  11. It's nice his dad offered to help find him love. Most parents just want to know when or if you have found love, lol!

    1. That they do. Though, I as a parent, TRY to just support rather than interfere.

  13. His dad sure is bossy and wants things done his way. I'm thinking Yoni really doesn't want his dad's help. He's already interested in someone.
