Hello and welcome to another Weekend Writing Warriors post!
Thank you to everyone who visited me last weekend! This weekend, I'm continuing with a snippet from the third story in my Shifter Towers series, PIKA OMEGA PLUS ONE. It's an MM MPreg Shifter Romance. The story is available in both ebook and print.
Set-up: In last weekend's snippet, Milo decided to get a flower painted on his face, and after that, Yoni asked for Milo's number. They went on a first date to the children's museum with Odega, which was so much more sweetness. But, in this snippet, they're on their second date. This time, just the two of them. Two guys on a date. This is in Milo's point of view. (punctuation changed to fit the 10 sentence limit)
We’d arrived inside a tiny theater, one I hadn’t known existed in this building. There were just over twenty seats, and they weren’t even seats but pull-out couch-style beds, the room was lit by table lamps between each bed rather than the sconces adorning the walls of most theaters, and the screen was smaller than a normal theater but still large enough to be seen by all in attendance. Well, if they actually watched the movie.
I eyed Yoni, trying to figure out his intentions. If he’d brought me here, expecting a make-out session rather than a chance to enjoy a good movie together, he was in for a surprise. As much as I liked him, I wasn’t going to give myself to him so quickly, maybe never if his intentions were so immoral.
He gestured to the bed on the far left of the front row. “I thought it would be a comfortable place, and if something had happened and you didn’t have a sitter for Odega, we could’ve still gone out. The three of us. But it would feel like watching a movie at home.”

PIKA OMEGA PLUS ONE
Shifter Towers book three
Milo
My mate died in a horrible car crash the night after he claimed me. I didn’t know I was pregnant with his child until he was buried in the ground. Luckily, my brother and his family supported me through it all. Now, it’s time for me to earn my keep. I’m going back to work. Not only to earn money, but to have a social life again. Even if just during the hours I’m at my job. Because I’m nowhere near ready for another relationship. Not sure I ever will be.
Yoni
I moved to Saramto to take a paid intern position at the local news station. My first time living in such a big city. And as the time limit on my contract kept looming closer, I hoped to come across something to keep me here. Nothing did. Until I met Milo and his adorable son. Now, I want them to be mine and I have no desire to leave. But my time is drawing near. While I pray for some miracle to come along and let me stay, I must find a way to tell Milo I have to go.

It sounds like he's addressing Milo's unspoken reservations.
ReplyDeleteThat he is.
DeleteAwe, so he does have good intentions. :-) That should put Milo at ease. :-)
ReplyDeleteThat's what Yoni is hoping for.
DeleteThey are kind of upside down yet I'm sure all will be well.
ReplyDeleteThey'll get there. Milo is still unsure about getting back into the dating scene, so he is full of reservations.
DeleteThat's really sweet, I'm glad he addressed his reservations. Also, it was nice to see he was still willing to have the date even with the little one there too.
ReplyDeleteYes, Yoni really likes Milo, and wants this to work.
DeleteAwww! The perfect date - one who thinks of all contingencies esp when a child is involved!
ReplyDeleteHe's really trying.
DeleteGood thing he had an explanation ready. I would've been suspicious too!
ReplyDeleteYes, Yoni is really trying.
DeleteWhat an interesting theater. I like the recliners but those couches would put me to sleep. LOL Yoni seems quite sensitive. Nice guy.
ReplyDeleteOh, I'd definitely fall asleep. I can in a regular theatre. LOL
DeleteHe must have sensed his reservations.
ReplyDeleteYes, he's trying to think of everything.
DeleteInteresting moment, a little tension, but I liked the explanation for the choice of location. Enjoyed the snippet!

DeleteHe is just too good/sweet to be true. But I suspect he actually is.
ReplyDeleteYoni really is a sweatheart, but he does have his faults, too.
DeleteHe's a keeper! Anyone who thinks of the kids first is a keeper. Great eight!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Dixie! Yes, definitely a plus!
DeleteThat was sweet of him. I think he's a good dude and is not up to anything bad. Go for it!
