Hello and welcome to another Weekend Writing Warriors post!
Thank you to everyone who visited me last weekend! This weekend, I'm continuing with a snippet from the third story in my Shifter Towers series, PIKA OMEGA PLUS ONE. It's an MM MPreg Shifter Romance. The story will release on February 28, and is now available for pre-order. I also got the cover this week!
Set-up: Continuing from last weekend's snippet, Milo finally makes it to work, but everything goes bad right from the start.
Walking inside the store, I glanced around for the manager, Hayley. When I called two weeks ago, she’d given me my schedule then emailed me the paperwork I needed to fill out and send to the head office to indicate I wanted to return before my full paternity leave ended. But she wasn’t around. Instead, I saw someone else wearing a manager uniform.
No, not him. My stomach twisted, and my skin itched, my body wanting to shift.
My nemesis, Randall Bickell, turned around then sneered. “Milo. I heard you decided to come back early.” I’d have believed he’d stolen the uniform if he hadn’t had a nametag with his name engraved into it with the words Shift Manager underneath.

PIKA OMEGA PLUS ONE
Shifter Towers book three
Milo
My mate died in a horrible car crash the night after he claimed me. I didn’t know I was pregnant with his child until he was buried in the ground. Luckily, my brother and his family supported me through it all. Now, it’s time for me to earn my keep. I’m going back to work. Not only to earn money, but to have a social life again. Even if just during the hours I’m at my job. Because I’m nowhere near ready for another relationship. Not sure I ever will be.

I moved to Saramto to take a paid intern position at the local news station. My first time living in such a big city. And as the time limit on my contract kept looming closer, I hoped to come across something to keep me here. Nothing did. Until I met Milo and his adorable son. Now, I want them to be mine and I have no desire to leave. But my time is drawing near. While I pray for some miracle to come along and let me stay, I must find a way to tell Milo I have to go.
Pika Omega Plus One is a sweet with knotty heat shifter mm mpreg romance. It is book three in the popular Shifter Towers Series.

The plot thickens with the appearance of his nemesis. I have no idea how this will complicate matters, but I'm sure it will.
ReplyDeleteHe definitely will complicate Milo's life even more.
DeleteTrouble afoot, I fear. What happens next?
ReplyDeleteMore trouble for Milo.
DeleteWow - life didn't just kick him when he was down, it full on starting throwing lemons. A sneering nemesis is to be avoided at all costs.
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately, he can't avoid Randall.
DeleteShift Manager - LOL! This day is off to a wretched start.
ReplyDeleteYes, and the day isn't finished.
DeleteRotten luck for his first day back at work!
ReplyDeleteYes, and the day has just begun...
DeleteOh no!The poor guy has already been through so much.
ReplyDeleteYes, and his day is getting worse every minute.
DeleteOh no. So not good.
ReplyDeleteTweeted.
Not at all
DeletePoor guy. The man is now a shift manager. That doesn't bode well, does it?
ReplyDeleteNope. Now he's responsible for the shift assignments.
Deleteeek this doesn't bode well at all. I hope things turn around for him.
ReplyDeleteNot any time soon, unfortunately
DeleteOh dear, bad sign for sure! Great snippet, the tension builds...
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteOh, joy. A pompous nemesis, to be sure!
ReplyDeleteDefinitely
DeleteThere's nothing worse than a bad boss. Time to start looking for a different job?
ReplyDeleteThat's right. Maybe, but not at the moment.
DeleteI like the inner-struggle Milo is facing. Randall sounds like a piece of work.
ReplyDeleteKeep smiling,
Yawatta
