Breakfast mistake... Read a snippet from MINK OMEGA IN HIDING #WeWriWa #romance #PNR #MMromance #LGBTQ

Hello and welcome to another Weekend Writing Warriors post!

Thank you to all of you who visited me last weekend! MINK OMEGA IN HIDING is an MM paranormal romance, the second book in my Shifter Towers series, is now available!! Thank you to all who have supported this book!!

Set-up: In last weekend's snippet. Roan decided to make breakfast for Hansol to thank him for providing a place to stay. But he came up short on the ingredients.

This week's snippet continues from there as Roan tries to work with what he could find.

I dug out pans and a cutting board. The eggs would take the shortest amount of time, so I pushed the carton aside to cut up the orange potatoes and prepare the bacon. Everything was going well. Everything was cooking. The diced potatoes were frying in oil. The bacon was coming along well. And I’d just put the omelet I’d whipped up into another pan. I was excited to present the food I’d prepared to Hansol, show him that I was useful, that I could help him rather than being an inconvenience.

Then the smoke detector blared throughout the house, a sound loud enough to wake the dead. What the hell had I done wrong?

Mink Omega in Hiding
Shifter Towers book two

Roan is looking for a way out...
As a mink shifter omega, I never thought I’d escape the soul-crushing, gang-ruled world I lived in. But, one night on my way home from working at the strip club, the opportunity arose. I needed to find a place to hide, somewhere I could go where no one from this life would ever find me. Someplace I could start over. With my parents deceased, I only had one person from my past I could ask for help. But would he want to see me again?

Hansol has everything in his life, except his mate…
After two years of running a successful fitness center with celebrities as my personal clients and friends, one would think I had everything I’ve ever wanted. But I don’t. The one thing I still desire is to have my mate by my side. Something my sun bear keeps reminding me of every day. Sure, I’ve had plenty of omegas and other alphas in my bed, but no one I want to wake up with each morning. That person left my life years ago with no explanation and no goodbye.

Will they find their way back to each other?
Then Roan shows up on my doorstep, soaking wet, and with no belongings. Of course, I take him in. But I don’t know how long I have until he leaves again. Can I trust him this time? Can I finally claim him as my mate? Or am I holding onto false hope? Because I know there is something he is keeping from me.

Mink Omega in Hiding is a super sweet with knotty heat shifter M/M mpreg romance featuring a mink shifter escaping horrific abuse, a reconnection with an alpha friend from the past who stands between him and danger, and the discovery of what really could happen between them. It is the second book in the popular Shifter Towers series and can be read as a standalone.

  1. Everything was going so well until the last paragraph! Smoke detectors in the kitchen are so annoying, particularly when they're overly sensitive.

  2. He seems to be a careful cook, so I'm curious to see what went wrong.

    1. Yes, he is, but he was cooking with ingredients he wasn't familiar with.

  3. Just when everything goes right, everything goes wrong. Exceptional snippet.

  4. Nothing quite like being woken up by a smoke alarm going off. I hope Hansol is the understanding type (I get the feeling he is!)

    1. That's right! Hmmm, remember, he's a bear shifter.

  5. Enjoyed the excerpt, can't wait to find out what triggered the smoke alarm (the shower in my apartment will trigger the smoke alarm if we're not careful!). Best wishes on the new release!

    1. Thanks so much, Veronica! Growing up, we had a smoke alarm like that. Now, all we have to do is open the oven door without turning the fan on to set it off.

  6. That happens frequently in our kitchen.

    1. It does in ours, too, if I forget to turn the fan on.

  7. Nothing like the smoke detector alarm to wake you for breakfast. I wonder if it was the orange potatoes.

    1. LOL If only we could yell "I'm just cooking" to get it to turn off. Thanks, Kate!

  10. Hmm, is it something else on fire?? He seems on top of things in the kitchen. He really is trying to make himself useful...to get to stay there.

    1. The answer will be revealed next weekend. But remember, he's using ingredients he's never cooked with before. Even though he hasn't seen Hansol in a few years, their friendship still means everything to him.
