Why did Roan disappear? Read a snippet from MINK OMEGA IN HIDING #WeWriWa #romance #PNR #MMromance #MPreg

Hello and welcome to another Weekend Writing Warriors post!

Thank you to all of you who visited me last weekend! MINK OMEGA IN HIDING is an MM paranormal romance, the second book in my Shifter Towers series, is now available.

Set-up: In last weekend's snippet. Hansol began questioning Roan again about where he'd been for the past few years, and why he'd returned so suddenly. In this weekend's snippet, more answers are revealed. (Punctuation changed to make it fit the ten sentence limit.) This is in Hansol's POV, and the first line of dialogue is from Roan.

Even with his head down, I could see him chewing on his bottom lip. “My parents showed up right after I finished my last exam; they wanted me to go with them while they worked a couple of terms at a clinic in Gitown.”

He glanced up then away but long enough for me to notice the tears pooling in the corners of his eyes. I wanted to hold him, tell him I understood even if I didn’t, but we weren’t there yet. I still needed more information.

“It was a whirlwind few days of packing and moving from one place to another and then another again.” He stepped back. “By the time my life had settled down enough to give you a call, a couple of weeks had passed. And that’s when I realized you hadn’t tried to contact me. I assumed you didn’t care, would have called or texted if you did, if you….”

Mink Omega in Hiding
Shifter Towers book two

Roan is looking for a way out...
As a mink shifter omega, I never thought I’d escape the soul-crushing, gang-ruled world I lived in. But, one night on my way home from working at the strip club, the opportunity arose. I needed to find a place to hide, somewhere I could go where no one from this life would ever find me. Someplace I could start over. With my parents deceased, I only had one person from my past I could ask for help. But would he want to see me again?

Hansol has everything in his life, except his mate…
After two years of running a successful fitness center with celebrities as my personal clients and friends, one would think I had everything I’ve ever wanted. But I don’t. The one thing I still desire is to have my mate by my side. Something my sun bear keeps reminding me of every day. Sure, I’ve had plenty of omegas and other alphas in my bed, but no one I want to wake up with each morning. That person left my life years ago with no explanation and no goodbye.

Will they find their way back to each other?
Then Roan shows up on my doorstep, soaking wet, and with no belongings. Of course, I take him in. But I don’t know how long I have until he leaves again. Can I trust him this time? Can I finally claim him as my mate? Or am I holding onto false hope? Because I know there is something he is keeping from me.

Mink Omega in Hiding is a super sweet with knotty heat shifter M/M mpreg romance featuring a mink shifter escaping horrific abuse, a reconnection with an alpha friend from the past who stands between him and danger, and the discovery of what really could happen between them. It is the second book in the popular Shifter Towers series and can be read as a standalone.

  6. Well at least they're talking about the misunderstanding, which is important. You really bring the difficult emotions to the fore - great snippet!

    1. Thanks so much, Veronica! It's so important for them to talk this out, even if they don't say everything all at once.

  8. Such insecurity on both their parts. I can understand Roan's reluctance to reach out, but doesn't he understand that if they moved around so much how could Hansol contact him?

    1. Indeed! They both had cell phones, so they at least had each other's numbers. They were just too stubborn, and had so many emotions bottled up already before this misunderstanding happened.

  9. Sometimes it just takes sitting down and actually talking to set things straight. Let's hope that is where this talk is going. Wonderfully emotional snippet!
