Thank you to all of you who visited me last weekend! MINK OMEGA IN HIDING is the second book in my Shifter Towers series, and will be releasing soon through Decadent Publishing.

Set-up: In last weekend's snippet. Roan hopped on the bus heading to Saramto, a place he hadn't been in a long time. Now, I'm switching to the point of view of Hansol, a sun bear shifter who owns his own gym in Saramto. And he happens to have several celebrity clients, including TK and Kish from Bunny Omega on the Run. The first line is TK talking. They have just finished TK's training session.

“Hey, you ever think about having kids? Gabrielle and Gareth can’t get enough of you. You’d make a great dad.”

If he wasn’t a friend on top of being a client, I would never answer such a personal question. But I couldn’t avoid answering TK. “Gotta find the right mate first.”

He chuckled. “You mean a hot alpha like you, who owns his own business, doesn’t have any prospects?”

“Oh, I have plenty of offers. I just haven’t found the right one.”

Set-up: Once again, I skipped a few sentences from last weekend's snippet. Roan took the bus home, and when it reached his house, he realized it was surrounded by police cars and crime scene tape. Instead of getting off the bus, he stayed on, heading downtown.

When the bus reached the main terminal, I rushed off and headed to the station for the out-of-town routes. The arrival/departure screen indicated several buses would be leaving at six am. But I didn’t want to wait around the station for the next few hours. I knew what happened to people who were found here in the middle of the night. Especially omegas like me. Tuan had told me stories, been involved in many of the attacks. I needed to go somewhere now.

There was one bus on the platform that was boarding passengers. Its sign read Saramto. A ten hour drive to a place I hadn’t been in years.

Set-up: I skipped a few sentences from last weekend's snippet. Roan has finished his shift at the strip club, and is taking the bus home. During the ride, he receives a text that says Run, but thinks it was mistakenly sent to him.

Suddenly the volume of the voices on the bus heightened. I glanced out the window to see what the excitement was about then realized how close to home I was. I yanked on the stop request cord then carefully headed for the exit. And that’s when I noticed the lights. Blue and red. All flashing. My home was surrounded by police cars and crime scene tape.

Then I recalled the message. Run. It was meant for me.

Hello and welcome to another Weekend Writing Warriors post!

I missed last weekend, but I'm back again to share from a new story. And I'm excited to say that this story was just contracted this past week to Decadent Publishing. It's the second book in my Shifter Towers series, MINK OMEGA IN HIDING.

Set-up: This is from the beginning of the story in Roan's point of view. (Punctuation changed from original version to fit ten sentence limit.)

As a child, I often believed standing on stage performing for enraptured spectators would be the best feeling in the world. I was so wrong. In the audience, drunk and horny wolf shifters fixated on me, waiting for me to sway my hips and peel off my clothing one piece at a time.

Even though I knew they were there, I couldn’t look at any one of them. If I did, I would freeze, be completely unable to perform. Instead, I imagined stripping for someone else, someone from long ago. Thoughts of my first love helped me through work, and every day at home when Tuan wanted me to perform sexual favors for him and several of his gang members, or decided he wanted to remind me of his dominance with his fists.

Memories of my first love helped me through it all. He’d never loved me back, not in the way I’d wanted him to. But he’d always treated me as an equal, even if he was an alpha and I was only an omega.
