A kiss that silences the crowd. Read a #WeWriWa snippet from TAYRYM #scifiromance #gayromance #newrelease #reading

Hello and welcome to another Weekend Writing Warriors post!

Thank you to everyone who came to visit me last weekend! TAYRYM, the fourth Galactic Defenders story, is now available!

Set-up: In last week's snippet, Tayrym and Guri were talking more about nicknames and regretting they didn't get together sooner. I'm skipping ahead quite a bit this weekend to when both young men graduate from school. Just a couple days before Tayrym is set to leave. (This is in Guri's POV.)

Though graduating meant little to him, he knew Tayrym was excited about the ceremony, looked forward to his limited day cycles of freedom before he left the planet.

Guri cheered as loud as possible as his Tay Tay received a diploma. And when Tayrym passed him with a shy smile on his way back to his seat, Guri couldn’t help but pull him in for a kiss. Nothing intimate like what they’d shared on his bed. Just a quick peck on the lips. But enough to silence the crowd.

Realizing his mistake, Guri let go of Tayrym and sat down. Regardless of who already knew about their relationship, there was still shock among the audience, their whispered opposition growing louder and louder.

Tayrym bolted back to his seat while Guri tried to make himself as small as possible. Yet that didn’t take the audience’s attention off them.

(Author's note: They receive a lot of objection on their planet for being in a relationship, especially from Tayrym's mother. Not from Queen Lalia or Prince Bryce though. They fully support the couple. I won't be sharing any snippets from that section of the story, so wanted to let you know to understand the context.)

Tayrym has dreamed of becoming a Galactic Defender since meeting the infamous Bryce when he was just a boy. Finally an adult and awaiting the day cycle he is set to leave for training, Tayrym learns his long-time crush shares his affections. Now, he’s unsure whether he wants to leave, which dream matters more.

With the threat of being sent away for his sexuality haunting him, Guri keeps his feelings for his former classmate to himself. Even with a new progressive ruler on Hemera, he still hides his attraction to the young man. But when he catches the other shadowing him, Guri decides to take a chance. The only problem is, the man of his desire is leaving the planet soon. Possibly forever.

With obstacle after obstacle in their path, will Tayrym and Guri ever have a chance to be happy together? Or are they destined to fulfill their dreams light years apart?

A warning from someone who knows... CAT REFUGE: Aliens Among Us by @Liza0Connor #scifi #shifter #suspense

A Warning from someone who knows...

“We all like to believe we are masters of our fate. However, usually it isn’t true. Somewhere, a person exists, sometimes completely unknown to you, whose slightest action impacts your life.”

CAT REFUGE ~ BOOK ONE
ALIENS AMONG US
by Liza O'Connor

Jason Connors, the head of the FBI, becomes involved in a simple immigration case in which a doctor from Africa has married an American woman so he can enter the United States. Some claim the doctor is not human, but rather a cat-like alien species that can mimic the human form. Determined to discover what is really going on, he sends his brightest agent, Carmella Ginkabo to Africa, to uncover the facts. Courageously, she travels deep into the jungle to learn the truth from the first of this species who originally landed on Earth two hundred years prior. Her discovery alters the future of Earth forever.

ENJOY AN EXCERPT:

Dr. Tiburon glared at Schuler and then at Catina. “So, you refuse to honor the promise made in your behalf.”

“Schuler had no right to promise that.”

“He had every right. You were dying. He saved your life. But in doing so, he has cost another.” With no explanation for his last statement, the doctor turned and left the room.

Catina stared at the closing door in concern. “What the hell did that mean?”

Schuler shrugged. “He wouldn’t say, except some relative, a sister I think, is in America and needs his help. He wouldn’t tell me why, but it is really important he gets to America sooner verses later.”

“But what you promised him is illegal.”

Schuler sighed and sat on the edge of her bed. “What was I supposed to do? You were dying. He had a means to save you, but it meant giving up his chance to save his sister. He wouldn’t save you without a promise that you would get him to America. Hell, it’s not a real marriage. You can sign a prenuptial agreement. Just marry the poor guy so he can get in and care for his sister.”

“It’s still illegal!”

“Right. Let his sister die, because your hand might get slapped by emigration. Jeez, the man only saved your life. No particular reason to be grateful.”

“It’s his job to save lives. He’s a doctor. It’s in the Hippocratic Oath.”

“To trade his sister’s life for yours? I don’t think so. He didn’t have to do that. As a doctor, he could have accepted the lack of a helicopter and let you die.”

More nicknames and regrets. Read a #WeWriWa snippet from TAYRYM #scifiromance #LGBTQ #newrelease

Hello and welcome to another Weekend Writing Warriors post!

Thank you to everyone who came to visit me last weekend! TAYRYM, the fourth Galactic Defenders story, is now available!

Set-up: In last week's snippet, Tayrym explained to Guri why Gwenodyn calls him Scrym. The talk of nicknames continues. The first line is Guri speaking. (Creative punctuation used to fit the 10 line limit.)

“So if I call you Tay Tay, what do you want to call me?”

Tayrym smiled. “Mine.” His cock stirred as he waited for Guri’s reaction.

A deep laugh rumbled from Guri. He grinned before lying back and closing his eyes. “As much as I want that to be true, I don’t know if it’s possible, not with you leaving in a few day cycles.”

Tayrym tapped a finger against his bottom lip. Why did this have to be so hard? Why did they only now get together?

Tayrym has dreamed of becoming a Galactic Defender since meeting the infamous Bryce when he was just a boy. Finally an adult and awaiting the day cycle he is set to leave for training, Tayrym learns his long-time crush shares his affections. Tayrym explains how he got the nickname Scrym.

Set-up: In last week's snippet, Tayrym realized his dreams of becoming a Defender and being with Guri might not be possible to have at the same time. In this weekend's snippet, Tayrym and Guri haven't given up on each other, but are talking, trying to get to know one another. And Guri has a question for Tayrym. (Some lines cut and creative punctuation used to fit the 10 line limit.)

“Why does Princess Gwenodyn call you Scrym, but no one else is allowed to?”

Not at all the type of question he’d expected, but he’d told Guri he’d be honest. “Well, Gwenodyn and I have known each other since we were very young, so many Galactic years before Lalia returned.”

Guri nodded, his intense stare consuming him, yet Tayrym continued.

“She looked up to me for some reason, followed me everywhere. The same thing I did with my brother, Myar.” He’d always admired his brother, wanted to be just like him. “His friends at that time didn’t like me hanging around, used to always say ‘Scram Tayrym.’ Gwenodyn was so young at that time, and I guess she thought that was my name. She tried to say it all, but ended up shortening it to Scrym; she knows my real name, but called me the other for so long, it just stuck.”

Tayrym has dreamed of becoming a Galactic Defender since meeting the infamous Bryce when he was just a boy. Finally an adult and awaiting the day cycle he is set to leave for training, Tayrym learns his long-time crush shares his affections. Tayrym can't live both dreams at the same time. Read #WeWriWa snippet! #GalacticDefenders #LGBTQ #scifiromance

Hello and welcome to another Weekend Writing Warriors post!

Thank you to everyone who came to visit me last weekend! TAYRYM, the fourth Galactic Defenders story, is now available!

Set-up: In last week's snippet, Tayrym believed he'd ruined his date with Guri because he was late. Though Guri didn't make a fuss about it. I'm going to skip ahead a bit in this scene to where Tayrym tells Guri that he will be leaving the planet for Defender training. The first line is Guri's. (creative use of punctuation to fit the 10 line limit.)

“Oh.”

The simple word felt like a blade to Tayrym’s heart. He finally had a chance to be with his crush, but only for a short period of time, not long enough to know if it could turn into something more. Unless.... “Hey, if you really want to travel through the stars, you could come, too, train to be a Defender with me. I think you’d do really well.”

“I don’t think so.” Guri let go of Tayrym then rested his arms behind his head. “That’s your dream, not mine. I want to go into space, but not like that.”
